I've been fortunate that this has happened only once to me. |

Just to confirm, you can only delete a name from your GR tree if it is at the top or the bottom or has no other branches attached to it. For example, you can remove or delete the child of a relation. |

I am confused........I have got a person with 15 ancestors and 249 descendants. Deleting ancestor number 1 is not allowed because it would leave the branch unlinked. Deleting descendant 16 is also not allowed for the same reason, it would leave the 249 unlinked. Does that last line "or else you have to remove / delete all other dependents or ancestors to this person first" simply mean just delete the whole 249 starting at the bottom of the tree and then go back and re-enter the whole lot but this time in the right place? |

On GR, you can only delete a person that has a single link to the rest of the tree. The reason you can't delete someone with an attached branch, beit ancestors or descendants, is because the branch would become unlinked to the rest of your tree, and, unlike commercial tree programs, there is no facility to re-attach it back to it's correct place. |

Depends on how many people you have attached. |
