I have just received a death certificate for one of my ancestors and under cause of death it has that there was an inquest. |

Thank you Annie, I will have a look at the newspapers next time I go to Manchester Library, unfortunately they are closed until June, when they will re-open in another building, the library itself is not open again until 2013 after refurbishing it. Dont think I can cope with the withdrawal symptoms lol. |

Ask at the relevant records office just in case copies of the inquest reports have survived. I am very fortunate to have copies of two, and they make fascinating reading. |

Annie, They are re opening in June for the time being in another building, so will have to go there till 2013, but not sure if everything will be there. |

If you join Lancashire library online, they give access to a lot of old newspapers online. You may be lucky and find something depending on the year and newspapers. |

Thanks to everyone for your ideas, I am looking for a Samuel Stirrup who died 2 January 1924 by heart failure and something to do with natural causes. Not sure why there was an inquest, died in 84 Albert Street, Bradford, Manchester aged 71. |
