You could also try the Board of Guardians for the area the family lived. My gran's siblings were all in workhouse homes in 1911. |

hi shirley thanks for that i have tried all sorts of different lines, i would have thought there must be registers in these homes. her father was still alive and visited her but drawn a blank. ill keep trying |

My FIL was put into a home sometime before the 1911 census .he was born 1901, but he doesnt show on the 1911 census,I guess the homes may have only used initials on any census pages, we have tried Barnardos, and other childrens homes by contacting them direct but as yet haven't been able to trace where he was. There isnt any online info that you can check that we have been able to find . |

i would be grateful to know how i could find documents or details of a young child put into care.are there records i could access, i dont know the exact date but only where she was living before. any information would be welcome. |
