This may sound a silly question to those of you who are 'research experts' but is there a way to find information via the internet on deaths after 2004? I have been checking death certificates and celebrating the news that someone was not dead as I had feared, and then I discovered that information on deaths on this site only goes up to 2004. |

Basically you can't. The GRO have only released the indexes up to 2005 (apart from a few exceptions) |

Not strictly true. FindMyPast has BMD indexes up to 2006, which is the most up to date ONLINE index. However, you can view the index up to 2008 (and the provisional 2009 index) at the following locations: |

Not via the internet, though, which was the original question. |

On the internet it's 2006 (FindMyPast). So to say 2005 is the latest is not strictly true. |

As I said 2005 (apart from a few exceptions)......! |

So you don't consider a whole year's worth of records that are in the timeframe requested by the OP to be worth mentioning? |
