I have a John Ritchie in Scottish 1901 census but it seems unlikely he went to England as he died in the Arbroath where he lived with his wife and children. |

There are a few but it's difficult to know which if any are your John. There aren't any with an occupation which matches. Also you don't when your John went to England. I wish English certs where like Scottish where mother's name is recorded in most cases |
