Would some kind person take a look at the 1901 Census for the following people please. I have them up to and including 1891 Census after that they seem to vanish into thin air.
Alfred Richard Wright - 1859 Lambeth - Head
Charlotte Wright (nee Parsons) - 1860 Newington - Wife
Alfred Wright - 1888 Newington - Son
Charlotte Wright - 1887 Newington - Daughter

Hi Linda,

I have possibly found the father and son, father listed as widowed. Occupation market porter. But I don't know how to get the information onto GR, do I copy and paste something?

Where does it say Alfred Snr was born? I couldn't read it but thought it looked a bit like Islington! He obviously can't have been a widow if you have found his wife afterwards, but maybe this was a lie - something like the bloke who turned up in Panama last year.

Linda Report 31 Jan 2010 01:17

That's strange, in 1901 Alfred is a widower and living with his son. What has happened to his daughter?? Then in 1911 He's listed with wife Charlotte!! The plot thickens.

Thank you everyone for your help, any further input greatly appreciated.

Will have to come back tomorrow, need to get some shut eye, I'm going crossed eyed where I've been on this so long.

P.S. Alfred Snr. born in Lambeth, rest in Newington Southwark.
How strange their address was given as Queens Row and I lived there when I was 4/5 years old.

Hi all

Had the same problem just the other day. Couldn't find a family on Ancestry but they were on FMP.

This is a big household! (I think it's all one household but it may not be). Charlotte senior doesn't appear because she is the person I searched on:

Could someone tell what FMP is please.

I am totally confused with the info. which has been posted but I am thinking that perhaps the info. which Jooleh has posted maybe the correct one.

Opinions on this gratefully received please.

Sorry didn't mean to confuse the issue. There's obviously more than one family there. I'll try and just post the ones you are looking for. Give me time to edit the others out!

Julie,
Thank you for your time on this.

Sorry if I'm a bit dumb here but where did you get this info. from and how did you eliminate Elsie 1897, Florence 1898 and Baby 1901 from the pack. (For future ref. so I can do it for myself).

If this is what you call an address search where do you get the address from to search???

Linda

Jooleh

Jooleh Report 31 Jan 2010 21:20

Sorry about the previous confusion Linda -i t's because there were several Charlotte Wrights in the area so this time I searched on Alfred Richd instead.

If you want to check it for yourself here's what to do:

Choose 1901 person search on the FindMyPast site.

Click on the Advanced Search tab. Don't uncheck any boxes but do leave ALL fields clear except for the following:

Reg district = St Saviour Southwark

County = London

Other persons living in the same household =

Alfred Richd Wright

Make sure you put his middle name in the middle box!

That should bring up all the people living in the same household as Alfred Richd Wright

I was typing whilst you posted !
First you have to find the person you are going to do the 'other person' search on.

I did a basic search for Charlotte Wright born 1860. Too many came up.

Then I did an advanced search but I can't for the life of me reproduce it now! You have to go through a process of elimination until you hit on the most likely person.

I'll have another go at reproducing it later......
