i have found a person i am interested in on the 1901 census on findymypast but i dont have a subscription to view it but wheni try and find it on ancestry i cant seem to find it |

i have a joseph clegg who married a rose ann hannan in 1903 and i have them on the 1911 census. t on the 1911 it says rose was born 1880 in pendle lancashire . i am looking on behalf of a friend so i dont have certs. so just seeing if i could find a rose ann hannan born c 1880 pendle lancashire. |

There is nothing on any census on Ancestry matching the 1911 info - I think your friend is going to need the marriage cert........... |

Could it be short for Pendlebury? There is a Pendlebury somewhere near Manchester, I think - the only other ones I can think of are Pendle Hill (which is near me) and Pendleton (also near me - a little village!) - wonder if somebody shortened Pendlebury? |

thanks everyone for taking the time to look i am sorry i didnt get straight back but just had district nurse call for my hubby. sorry it does say pendleton not pendle on the 1911. think my friend will have to send for certs. i think i have got as far as i can without. |
