My ggg grandmother died as a result of a Visitation from God. She was 97 in 1842, so I am not surprised that God visited her. |

The bishop would periodically have a visitation of all his parishes - not that often - say every 10 y or less frequently. |

Heraldic Visitations were tours of inspection undertaken by Kings of Arms in England, Wales and Ireland in order to regulate and register the coats of arms of nobility and gentry and boroughs, and to record pedigrees. They took place from 1530 to 1688, and their records provide important source material for genealogists. |

Hi brummiejan, not on a birth certificate, I found in Parish records that are held in our library, I also tonight found it in burials, I must add that it was before 1837, some one told me it was something to do with Heraldry ???? |

Hi, can anyone explain please what they mean when they say for instance, during "Visitations" when someone had a child. I have come across this a couple of times and don't understand what it means, Thanks |
