Hi does anyone know if there is a way of connecting 2 trees together I am in contact with a member and we have found a couple who link our trees together. Is there a way of attaching his tree to mine or have I got hours of work ahead of me to manually input it Thanks. |

There is no way of automatically connecting your tree to someone else's on this site. If the person were to send you a file you could could in theory merge it with yours on your PC using software such as Family Tree Maker. |

Thanks for the information I had just found what i was looking for under the help icon and yes it would involve exporting files etc. I appreciate what you say about best practice it just seem strang when some has researched a particular name and ehtered them onto their tree that another person should disregard that and go over all the research theirselves. But thank you for taking the time to reply |

I have read the last 2 entries and thank you for your responses. I see exactly where you are coming from. I am new to this and my excitement/ eagerness at making quite an important connection to someone elses tree got the better of me. I see I will have to plod at my own pace and verify every detail, which I suppose is how it should be. thanks again |
