I have just found the family I am looking for on the ships passenger list to the States but find they have all been crossed through thy mother and 7 children. I think the husband may have gone on an earlier voyage. |

I find that a lot of names on the Ellis Island site have been crossed through but I don't know why. I don't think that it means they didn't make the voyage. I have seen cases where someone "missed the boat" as it were but that's usually made note of at the bottom of the page. |

Perhaps it is like the census pages with crossing out - usually obliterating the ages which is just what you wanted to know! |
