This man was baptised at Walsall 1794, married at St George the Martyr, Southwark 1814. I have bits & bobs of his family but cannot find him and wife Mary Jane in either 1841 or 51 census's. Despite trying all variations I can think of, no joy. Can anybody suggest any other means I can try please? Jim |

I can't find a death for James after 1837 , so wonder if he died prior to that which would explain his absence from 1841 census? |

Many Thanks to you both for your input. I have tried Alfred James route but have also drawn a blank there. And, Yes, it is the right child baptised at St George The Martyr. The name on census's has obviously been mistranscribed as people never wrote it themselves at that time. |

I did wonder about this for Mary showing on image as a widow, |
