Now that's interesting, wonder why the image differs from the info? Transcription error I guess. Don't suppose you can see Lydia and James with more children in the 1930 census by any chance - might be able to see a connection with names carried on in the family, or possible district they were living. Sorry to be a pain, and thanks for your time. |

Gerald, the image shows both parents are born in England. |

Thanks Everyone, Will try the Historical society google search. Thanks for that Rose, I am sure he is the correct son, pity no children though! Don't believe this to be "my" Lydia though, as both parents born in England. |

Here's one son in 1930. He's been married for a while but there are no children: |

Try googling the area where they were last known to be, for a local Historical society. |

I am still hopeful of one day finding living descendents of my greats who emigrated in the late 1800's, so far can only track as far as the 1930 USA census, but there must be some later folk out there somewhere! They would be family of Albert William and Mary Ann Hughes born in the 1860's in Smethwick Staffs, emigrated to Connecticut, also found them in Maryland, children Lydia, Albert William, Herbert Sidney, Ethel and Ralph W. I have thought of maybe contacting a local newspaper who's readers may have info or can help point me in the right direction to find elusive family , maybe folk like us interested in tying up loose family ends. This is (one) of my niggling family searches, always eating away in the background. |
