info on a Marriage Certificate help please.

Advice please..I have discovered that one of my Ancestors has been married three times, I know this is not unusual however I would like to know more about her parents..names etc. |

there's no reason why the father's name wouldn't be on the certificate - if she knew who he was. |

Assuming you mean England and Wales then her marriage certificates should show her father's name and occupation. The mothers name is not quoted on marriages, you will need her birth certificate for that. |

My g grandmother was widowed when she married my g grandfather in 1887. She is named on the certificate under her married name, widowed daughter of . . . . , Cashier. |

My husband's gg grandmother married three times. On her third marriage certificate in 1838 (of course, this was the first one after Civil Registration) she is just recorded as 'Rebecca WALKER, widow, daughter of William VINES. No mention of her maiden name or first married name. |

Thank you so much for you helpful advice.This is an English Certificate and just to get the name of the father of my Ancestor would be a big help. |
