Hi, I cannot find my relative who was in the workhouse in 1881. Can anybody help as to where I would find workhouse registers, or can anybody tell me why they aren't in the normal census? |

They are usually in the census. Like to give a name and place of birth and year of birth and I'll have a look? In the meantime, explore here - |

Census's were taken in all the workhouse's and they are found with in the normal way, but bear in mind that their name may be mis-spelt or they may be mistranscribed, also on some institutions they were not entered in the name column as John Smith but just J S |
