I have found the marriage cert for Henry Plested. Says father was Thomas Plested, Wine Cooper so you read that well, Thanks.

Son, Henry was a Wine Porter.

Can you read the daughter's name. Transcription says Dsanna? I can't read it at all from the image on my PC.

c 1792 was his birth year according to 1841 census.

DOB was about 1892. Don,t know where he was born. 1841 says he was born outside county. The name is actually Plested. There was a Thomas Plested born about the right time in Buckinghamshire.

Wife, Sarah, was born in Rotherhithe. She must have remarried as in 1851 she is Sarah Wiltshire, widow.

Sound' s like a good link..from "Cooper" [barrell maker] to Wine cellarman]. Possibly too old to continue with his craft which was difficult and strenuous.

Son Henry was a awine porter in 1851

I am looking at the 1841 census image for Thomas Pleastow on Ancestry and I cannot make out his occupation. Can anyone with a better pair of eyes than me read it please. It is the 7th name down on the right hand page.

Thanks

David
