Thanks everyone.I followed your tips and found several articles showing that he had been in trouble with the law since his teens and had been whipped while still a youngster. What a life. |

I have access to The Times archive via the Lancashire Library Service following a tip from a community member and want to look up any references to an ancestor,Richard Chick, who was hung for robbery on October 19th 1829.I would like to find out if he had been in trouble prior to this final offence,but when I type in his name and a spread of dates it always comes back with " no result". I'm obviously doing something wrong---not surprising as I'm an oldie and not good with computers--- so could anyone please talk me through the process and stop me tearing my hair out with frustration! |
