You will either need to buy his birth or marriage certificate or look him up on the 1911 census and hope that he is living with his parents. Where was he born?

Hi Maxine.
Cecil's father was Joseph (born 1854) married to Martha.
Cecil's grandfather was also a Joseph (born c1831) married to Harriet.
Cecil's gt. grandfather was William (born c1801) married to Sarah.
If you look at the year of the census, it helps you to work it out. Does that help?

Hi Maxine
The grandparents have been deduced by working backwards through census records from Cecil b 1905 and who his parents were on the 1911 census, then finding the same parents and similar children in 1901, abd back to 1891 if the couple were then married (but you can look for a marriage of Joseph to a Martha around 1893 to confirm - and that could give you Martha's maiden name). Then it's a case of looking for a Joseph of the right birthdate and Jim has found one in 1861 that fits with parents Joseph and Harriet. And so you keep going back. Make sure you look at the actual census records as it might say a person is a nephew and you have assumed he is a son.
However the only way to be sure you have the right person is to buy certificates - you can easily go down the wrong track without them, and whilst I know it is expensive there is no point in doing this research if you are not reasonably certain.
You asked about children's birthdays - you can only get that information from certificates, or from the IGI if they happen to be there, or from death records if they died after about 1930. Nobody would be able to help you on that.
I only tell you all this so you are able to do it yourself, as that is part of the fun of this hobby and I don't want you to miss out on it!
Happy hunting
Margaret
