thank you all so much for your help,i think you are on the right path here i just needed another pair of eyes to make sense of it all.i have just spoken to a relative of mine and they were told that william had a brother they fell out and he changed his surname to higgins.don't know how much of that is true but it is worth following up on.thank you so much,regards bryan. |

My gt grandfather disappeared before the 1871. I looked for his marriage and found one with the correct wife. |

his father was listed on the marriage certificate as william higgins,deceased.i have him on the 1881,1891,1901 census i know he died in 1910.but there does not seem to be a trace of him before 1881.and on every census he has a different date of birth,i cannot find his birth as i don't think he was registered because at that time they did not have to.i am just at a loss of where to look for him.regards bryan |

my greatgrand father seems to have fallen from out of space,the first time i can find him is on the 1881 england census listed as edward higgins b1843 old radnor,radnorshire.i have his marriage certificate from 1881 when he married a charlotte price,but i can find no trace of him before this.it states on his marriage certificate that he had been married before and was a widower,yet i can find no trace of him.i'm starting to think that he was not born in radnor in1843 can anybody help me! |
