The birth cert' says Winifred Eliza (marriage cert' Winifred Elizabeth) Father John Henry Harrison, Mother Julia Harrison formerly Bassett, Father was a window cleaner, informant J. Harrison mother 4, White Lion Street.....Julia wouldn't be able to register the birth in Harrison if they were not married, would she?

I think my only hope is going to be to find someone with a connection to this side of the family....there must be brothers or sisters if not on Winnie's side, perhaps with her husband.

I can't believe where the time goes, lol...work again tomorrow.

Can I just say to you all that I am truly grateful for all the time effort that you have put in...a big thank you, u are all stars!!!

Nighty night, good people xx

I am not often totally lost, but there is always a first time. And I think this is it.

I will come back in a week, cos it is my daughter's wedding on Saturday, so I am a bit preoccupied, and I hope someone has found something great by then.

I too have been looking in on your thread T.J., What a mystery it all is. I had a few spare credits left on the 1911 census, so out of curiosity i thought i'd take a look at who was living at " 20 Affleck St ". Doesn't help with the Bateman mystery, but there is a "Barrett " family living there. Worth keeping as it might be a small part of the puzzle.

3 families are listed living at number 20.

1) Mr Henry Hines & family.

2) Mr Frederick charles Needs & family

The third family are -
Mrs Mary Barrett. Age 40. b. saxted, suffolk.

Occupation - Charing.

Married 8 years. (no husband on image)

Children born alive - 3

Children still living - 3

Number of rooms occupied - 2.

Children
Winifred Barrett. Age 6. b. London St Marylebone.
Nellie Barratt. Age 5. b. London St Marylebone.
Margaret Barrett. Age 3. b. london St Marylebone.

Thanks Jonesey, I have membership to Ancestry, but not WW...I will take you up on your kind offer and PM you, much appreciated.

Meg, congratulations on your daughter's wedding, enjoy the day!

Netty, Many thanks...it may be worth looking into this...I haven't got anything else to go on, so I will give it a look. Julia (Winnie's mother) has her MM name as Bassett on birth cert', so may be a error, or another porkie!! lol. I appreciate you spending your credits, everyone has been so very generous xx

You're welcome T.J. Fingers crossed that you find information soon to help you to unravel this mystery. Please come back & let us know if you do.

There is a birth of Winifred Hilda Bateman, Sep 1902, West Ham. The 1911 census doesn't give a middle name, so this could be her.
