Please could anyone explain the meaning of Service Returns on place of birth ( Scottish birth cert ) I haven't come across this before and can't find any information on any site .Does this mean person born abroad or parents in Forces? |

This doesn't sound like it came from a Scottish birth cert - it sounds much more like the index to me. To see an example of what the register contains click on the last link on the page: |
