Hey,

Could Cain have been upset with Abel for copying his detailed family tree?

Arctic,

Surely you have missed the bit about the Vessels that appear on all these census extracts, Or perhaps this didn't arrive until Noah came along?

PS was Noah really from Byker Grove?

Always reply in textspeak when asking for ASL - this is, unfortunately, the language of the future. thx.

By the way, have you checked for the parish church of Eden - it may be under Eden Garden City of course.

Bet she got the wedding dress from figleaves.com

I am a 'Newbie' albeit ancient, I have received great help from the 'Oldies' in answer to my request's,also I have learnt a lot from the inputs and replies on the community boards,I find it tiring and'Hair-Tearing' searching for well hidden relatives, and it is great to relax by tuning in to the tips board to read the banter that accompanies the replies. Newbies can learn a lot from the ''rules''(Oldies were Newbies at one time)

Thank you. I just need to go back and put some info on a thread I've been helping with. Good idea to remind new people who have only started helping recently the correct way to help.

Lovely thread

Just wanted to add. Have you checked out this census, I think they may be related to you.

Reg district: Eden
Address: Garden of.

Adam: Head age 40 occ. Gardener/Fruit Picker birthplace, unknown
Eve: Wife age, 25 occ. Fig leaf maker birthplace, Adams rib
Cain Son 8 shepherd birthplace Eden
Abel 6 scholar birthplace Eden

These look like a match for the births of Cain and Abel
Cain son of Adam reg district Eden Vol 1 page 1
Abel son of Adam reg district Eden Vol ! page 2

Sadly I cannot find a marriage for the parents... maybe they've been mistranscribed!

Edit: Annina I think we're on the same wavelength.

PS Thanks to all the newbies/ oldies who have helped each other

As an Oldie but not totally devoted to answering every request for information and at the mercy of upsetting my colleagues, this listing does touch upon some valid points.

This is a hobby. Not all new participants will read the various Tips threads written to help them. They may not always give sufficient information and yes, us oldies will sometimes bombard them with information they never requested.

So I suppose both Newbies and Oldies have to accept that we don't always get things right, but come on, it's not the end of the world.
Enjoy your hobby, as amateur genealogists we should all be aware, that life's far too short to be grumpy.

Always remember that oldies are always right, even when they are completely wrong.

And, "to quote" never ever communicate anything that is, or could be considered, abusive, vulgar, offensive or threatening, even if the other person is a complete idiot. The other person might have to admit they were "misguided", which will never do.

Finally, don't be conned by the "Worn the Tee-Shirt" thing - most are threadbare.

Talking of "rules" Let us not forget the official rules which seem to be ignored by some "helpers"?

The Rules
Please don't communicate anything that is, or could be considered, abusive, vulgar, offensive or threatening – your behaviour must be polite, patient, and not intended to cause (or capable of causing) trouble or offence to other members.
