Don't know if this will be of any help but we have one from 1949 which is a copy issued for the purpose of Family Allowance Act. |

I have a very old copy of my mother's birth certificate which is very tatty and only just legible it contains the heading "issued for the purpose" then there is a bit missing underneath this is printed "child or young person" and then " certain statutory cases" would this have been from childrens home or worse? any help greatly appreciated I have bought a copy of the original and this is just a normal cert without any of this info on it |
