Ladies,

I joined Ancestry and have found my mothers long lost 1st cousin in the first week. So thank you all for your advice on that.

I was just wondering if any of you could help me with another of my searches. My grandmother had a half sister Rose Abrahamson (Born 1897)and half brother Harry Abrahamson (born 1901). (they are on the 1901 with parents Samuel Abrahamson and Esther Abrahamson).

Now the query is that they were not brought up by their father after their mother died. He remarried a- Rose Emily N Potts and then they had 6 children one being my grandmother Josephine.

On ancestry I have found the reference to their births of the first two children. But not sure how to find out where they went after this and who they lived with. How do I search the 1911 census or any other documents?

I wouldn't be without my membership in ancestry.

It looks expensive at first ........... but there is sooooooooooooo much on there

I can spend hours and hours on that site!!!

I believe it is invaluable in searching for ancestors.

I've been a member since 2003.

Sylvia,

I think I may Join Ancestry.co.uk as I didn't realise the information you could get on it. I have only just got back to searching for ancestors after a two year break. So much has changed in the last few years the information you can get now is amazing.

Even his branch of my family tree is finally opening up. Totally different to what I had expected.

You don't need the father or mother's name.

Just use the reference numbers we have given and order online from the GRO. It will cost £7.

The address is:-

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

Make sure that when the online form asks "Is the full GRO reference known?" that you tick the "yes" box. If you don't it will cost you more.
