I can confirm what Crispy Noodle says about Google books, I have found it invaluable for background information about ares of the country, local events, occupations etc. Moira. |

Try Google Books: you may find a snippet about an ancestor. (Not just books, but periodicals etc are there.). I have found a wealth of information about my great uncle (admittedly a former MP). Enter the complete name of the person you are looking for. |
