Interesting - according to a 2002 road map I found, Little Marlow is about 6 miles to the east of the Buckinghamshire.Oxfordshire border, and the start of the river Thames (on this map, it is listed as "Thames or Isis") runs level with the current Bucks/Windsor and Maidenhead border. |

Kate............. Thank you. I searched the Richmond Parish records but no joy and the assistant there looked too. He isn't in any of the Surrey Parish records. |

Did you managed to follow up the submitted IGI entry to see if there was a baptism record for a parish in or around Richmond that matched up with him? I would be tempted to follow it up if you haven't already - sometimes submitted entries can be copied down from parish records (but, of course, not all the time). He might have said he was "of the parish of Richmond" when he married (ie. living there at the time but not necessarily born there) and the person giving the information to the IGI has interpreted it to mean he was born there when he wasn't. |

I have posted in the past about my 4 x great grandfather but wondered whether anyone could advise me where to start looking. |
