He could have had family. Seeing your post has reminded me that my grandfather's death was registered by someone in the hospital where he died, with the qualification "occupier". |

I have been trying to trace my uncle, James Norton, Born 21st March 1913 (Birmingham UK), he was a Merchant Seaman our family lost contact with him after the 2nd world war. After making an attempt to trace the rest of my family i came across a James Norton who died in Bournemouth UK, death was registered jan/Feb/Mar 1983, i sent for the death certificate and it is my uncle. details are James Norton, DOB.B 21/03/1913, Merchant Seaman address 17 Norwich avenue Bournemouth, Died 26/12/1982 in Royal Victoria Hospital Bournemouth. The informant is a Gareth Jenkins Qualification Occupier Usual address Royal Victoria Hospital Bournemouth. Does this mean my uncle had no one to register his death (someone at the hospital did it ?) How can i find if he had a family, who else lived at the address with him, if anyone at all did. please help as i do not want to leave it here now i have got this far. |
