The Duchy of Lancaster also included the London parishes of the Strand, Clapham, Enfield, and Edmonton. |

Received Death Cert for G Grandfather, he died in his local hospital (Edmonton,Middx). He was involved in an accident - he was riding his bicycle and was injured by a car. Can anyone explain why in the "Informant" section it has - "Certificate received from G Cohen, Coroner for the Duchy of Lancaster"? I do not understand why it was not a local coroner, (what has the Coroner for the Duchy of Lancaster got to do with a persons death in Middlesex?. Also an inquest was held - how do you go about getting a copy of that?. This all took place in 1929. |
