This might be Winifred's birth (but maiden name isn't given in the birth index until 1911):- |

This looks like Agnes's birth registered in 1912 and Cain is her mother's maiden name:- |

How would I go about finding out if one of my ancestors were from a workhouse? All I have is a name of Sarah Cain, c 1886 mother of John Cain, but I dont have a maiden name, or know where she came from. I dont know where the family are from but I believe it to be manchester. She also had two duaghters, Agnes and Winefred Buckley. I dont know whether Cain was a maiden name or previous married name, Winefred I have a b. c, 1906 and d, c 1989 and Agnes a birth c 1910. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
