Whenever you add a reply to a thread it moves to the top of the board. Adding a nondescript message (such as the word nudge) does just that, making the thread easier to find. |

sorry to sound no naive but what does "nudged them up" mean. Is there somewhere I need to go to find this thread? |

I think the most you can do is put a "note" into your tree, giving the file name of the relevant image. Notes are imported/exported as part of the gedcom. |

You can do no better than read the two excellent threads from Glen on the subjects of Gedcom files and using family tree software. I have nudged them up for you. |

I have just exported my first gedcom file but don't really know what the advantage is - I can just see it in another application but in a different way. Also all the time I have taken to upload photos into my GR tree has been wasted as the photos have not been exported. Can anyone explain this gedcom lark to me as there doesn't seem to be any step by step guides as to what you're supposed to do with them once you've got them. Also, can anyone recommend good free software for a gedcom file which "sees" photos from GR but also allows audio/video files to be uploaded? |
