Hi, I have just come across a marriage of two of my 4 x great grandparents in 1784. Apparently, as Joseph and Mary were both minors, they were married under licence with parental consent. To narrow down the years they would have been born, is anyone able to confirm for me at what age does a 'minor' refer to. Would it have been 21 years of age? Many thanks. |

It would have been between the age of 12 and 21 for the female and between the age of 14 and 21 for the male. |
