where could she have lived ?

any help would be appreciated, if a person is listed on scotland census 1901 at an address , yet beside that persons name it states the room unhabited however the remainder of family still listed as living there, where could this person have stayed - only aged 5 |

i thought the census meant that where they are registered is the persons normal place of residence, hence the query . |

The address a person is at on any particular census is just the place they happen to be staying at on the night of the census - not necessarily their usual place of abode. |
