Her witness was called Alice Stott so don't know ? maybe her married sister??????

Thanks Selena and mrs Grumpy! kinda fits does'nt it will start trawling through the Margarets though i thought it may be mis transcribed when i could'nt find her !!! don't know if there was any brothers or sisters!!!!

Not much help but she's probably mistranscribed. Try looking just for forename and yob. You might have to wade through several pages of Margarets but it might be the only way to spot her. (It's so much easier when their surnames are near the beginning of the alphabet!).

If you know she had siblings it might be worth searching on those forenames - especially if one of them is unusual.

Hi guys i'm struggling finding my gggg grandmother Margaret Schofield in the 1841 census she was born in 1831 in Gosport Hampshire her father was John Schofield born about 1797 ish but cannot find her mother's name.

Margaret married my gggg grandfather in 1851 in Norden Rochdale he was called Elliott Lees please could you give me tips on how to find Margaret as a child in the first census?????
