MARRIAGE CERT

Hi ..can anyone advise me on how I can confirm the marriage cert i have received today is that of my grandparents.I only had names to go on and a rough idea of when the marriage took place.....thanks for taking the time to read this |

Ask to look at or order you dads birth certificate (not sure if you'd need to order it as I think when your adopted your adopation cert acts as your birth cert, although I could be talking rubbish) and maybe the eldest child's if he's not should 'confirm' their names and location, birth certs also give fathers profession. |

Thanks PME for your help I will try and get to see my dads cert..and yes there ia a possibility there could be some newspaper artical if what i have been told happened is true. |

Do you have your dad's sibling's names and do you know when your grandparents died? You can use the ages to confirm the marriage cert. |

If they had the children with them up until they died - then you ought to be able to find the birth certs of the eldest one or two of them. Adoption would be noted wouldn't it - but the original birth certs should still be in the listings. (Someone will shout if I'm wrong here) |
