I am looking for my husband's grandfather, William Tunnicliffe. My husband knows nothing about him, but I have discovered that he served in WW1 as a driver in the Royal Field Artillery. His father's name was John and he was a lace maker. How can I find William before WW1. I don't know where he was born or what his mother's name was or if he had any siblings. I have searched military records and found nothing. He married Violet Billing in Ilkeston, Derbyshire in 1922. One of the witnesses was Pheobe Tunnicliffe, but I cannot find her in any records. Where do I go next! |
