Annie Laurie is correct in that IF his records survive they will be on Ancestry (although NOT ALL records have been loaded onto the site yet). |

Oh bad luck Ann. There is not a lot you can do. If you have his Army Service Number, you can apply for a statement of his war service. You can still try that, costs £25, if you can give enough details of him for them to tie him down to a particular person, but it seems unlikely. |

The British Army WWI Medal Rolls Index Cards, 1914-1920 are on Ancestry. There are about 100 Fred Halls. |
