Would a birth certificate have been needed to record a death in 1950 for someone who was born in 1872 and married in 1896. I am trying to get both parents names but cannot find a birth registration. |

I have got a person born in 1972 supposely living with mother in 1881 who was born in 1825 find it hard to believe she had a child age 52ish, but there is no other way I can find if it is actually the mother. |

It was fairly common for grandparents to bring up their daughter's illegitimate child as their own. The "mother's" age is often a giveaway. |
