Under the section signature, description and residence information I have the fathers name address and the following words "As per declaration dated 8 July 1941". The actual certificate was dated two days later 10 July. Why the words as per declaration? Many thanks |

I have one as well, I happen to know the parents were unmarried when the child was born and she was registered under mothers name, a statutory declaration was made by the father as to paternity after marriage so she was re-registered under fathers name and the statement "After declaration dated ........ etc" included |

I had this on my mother's birth cert. My grandparents were married in December 1930 and my mother wasn't born until March 1932, so I know this wasn't the case here. Her birth was on 8th March 1932 and the birth was registered on 6th April. In the signature column is my nan's name and address and 'as per declaration dated 5th April 1932' so I don't really know what the reason was. |
