Harry's occupation is given as Van Guard (in brackets it says Carman).

His father is a Pottery Labourer.

I think it says Louisa is a Labler.

Kevin,

If you'd like me to send you the image of the 1901 census for Harry Kisser just send me a pm with your email address and I'll send it to you.

Harry is a well known nickname for Henry.

Ahh, thats could be him, ive had a few miss-spelt names during my searching. They like to make us word hard lol. This maybe why i had truoble finding his birth, i was in the library only this morning using the free ancestry library edition, and was no birth record.

thank you so everyone for the help, this gives me alot to go on, If i few the original census (well the online scanning) i may be able to tel if they've just got the names mixed up whist transfering to an online verson. Just to make sure its the right gentleman.

Hi Kevin- If you prefer to order the certificates over the phone, which I have just done ten minutes ago, instead of on line just ring 0845 603 7788. You will need to have the gro ref number and your credit card at hand. It will cost £8-50 instead of the £7 but should arrive within 5 days. I had problems with the site accepting my plastic in the past so I've opted for this method although it costs an extra £1 -50. The person at the other end was really helpful.

The parent's look as if they didn't marry until much later than the kids were born. There is this marriage on FreeBMD:-

Marriages Jun 1899
Kisser John, - Lambeth 1d 714

Spouse is Sarah Higgs.

Some young men were in South Africa in the Boer War for the 1901 census but I wouldn't have thought Henry was old enough (unless he lied about his age as some did). Have you found the rest of his family in 1901?

You can order the certificates from the GRO online at this address using the reference numbers given above:-

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

Make sure you tick the "yes" box when it asks if the full GRO Reference is known.

They cost £7 each with the reference numbers and £10 without.

I forgot to mention, Henry George Kisser doesn't appear on the 1901 census, is it common for someone to have been missed so to speak? or is it more likely he was out of the country?

thank you once again for the help, much appreciated

Kevin

Kevin Report 7 Jan 2009 15:11

I have had a quick look on the 1891 and 1901 census but nothing obvious
Will try again

You will need to buy Leonard's birth certificate to get his parent's names (or wait for the 1911 census):-

Births Jun 1906
Beaumont Leonard Charles Woolwich 1d 1306

Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me, I've been tracing my family tree, ive got some parts back to 1790s but others im really struglling to find anything.

Basically wondering if anyone can help me find the birth of Henry George Kisser, and his parents so i can get that side going. (believe he was born 1885, married to Florence Arnold in 1903)

Its a similar situation with Leonard Charles Beaumont, ive found alot about him, but can find his parents to get the line back any furthur. (Leonard Charles Beaumont b1906 woolwich (a twin) married Florence Harding in 1930).

Any help would be amazing,

thank you

Kevin
