You say North Carlton but you don't say which one. Please can you clarify? |

I have finally found my grandfather, George Sanders, after years of searching. He was born at North Carlton in 1890. However, his surname was originally Chessell. Somewhere around 1909 his entire immediate family changed their name from Chessell to Sanders and many of them moved away from their birthplace. Does anyone know of a way I can discover the reason for the name change ( all the older relatives in my family have long since died)? I would appreciate any suggestions offered. |
