What does Siss stand for?

Hi there, i have been researching my family tree and my GG grandparents were Charles Buckner and Olive Bew. I have most of their childrens names , but i am stuck on one. |

I also have a great aunt Mary Ann who was known as Cis. I dont know if this is actually to do with Mary Ann as a name, or whether its just cos it was the youngest girl. |

Cissie is a nickname taken from the word sister, and can be used for any girls name, |

None of the names above appeared to have Charles and Olive as there parents , nothing that stood out anyway. |

It could also be a great aunt - thus another generation he spoke about. I called my Great Aunt Cis, just aunt Cis. |

that is true, I did think that whilst looking at my tree,its possible shecould have been the youngest gg aunt, that he used to see, I guess we will never know. |

Thats ok Michael, I knew what you meant, as I already had those relatives in my tree, I just checked that Charles and Olive never had any children of the same name that could also be a siss. |

Numerous relatives in my family were known as Siss or Cissie...nothing to do with their Christian names at all...just 'pet' names for a favourite sister! |
