If you ever get hold of the book again, try looking on the 1851 census for some of the missing 705. My guess is they'll turn up on adjacent pieces. |

I'm guessing the parish boundaries cover other hamlets in the book, whereas they have a separate listing in the census. |

The book was loaned to me some 20 years ago and I have forgotten it`s name or who the author was. I will try to speak to the man who let me borrow it and see if he still has it. |

I was loaned a book that was dated approx 1850 about Essex villages. It gave descriptions of villages, prominent inhabitants, the types of shops, names of farms, extent of the village and the number of inhabitants. |
