With a 6 y difference in ages, I think the age on the m.cert ought to resolve matters. Ask your contact if he has the Kelly m.cert, and if he could send you a scan or a printed copy, or failing that a transcription. Ask at the RO if they will tell you anything about the Kelly m.cert - if you knew the church, you could check the parish records (assuming it's not in the RO - with a name like Kelly, it might be an RC marr, which would have taken place in a church, but with the registrar attending to oversee the signing of the register, and be officially recorded in the registrar's book, not the church's. However, the RC church would also have an entry in their parish records). |
