If they met and married here, have you found a marriage certificate? I cant see a marriage for those names. |

Trouble is death cert details are only as good as the informants knowledge. They can be years out on birth dates. (No Bedinskis on the shipping lists :() |

Do you have their death details because depending when they died it may show their dob. They could be found on Ancestry. Irene |

Thanks guys. I know from what my grandmother told me, and it may be wrong. Sarah, My grandmother was born in London 13.03 either 1900 or 1901, but her birth wasn't registered for some time apparently. To my knowledge they came directly from Russia to the UK, though they may have believed they were going to the USA. My ggrandfather was Abraham Bedanis or Pedennis. As far as I know my ggrandmother came over separately and they met here. She was called Hannah Muller, or Annie Miller. It all just seems so tricky with all the name variations. Thankyou for your pointers |

My mother's parents were both Lithuanian immigrants to Scotland in 1903 and 1912, so I'll give you a couple of websites to get you started, if you're interested in going back to your Lithuanian roots. I've found these very useful...otherwise just Google and you'll find plenty. |

My g grandparents came to London in the 1890s from what is now Lithuania. In Family papers their surname is spelt either : Bedanis / Pedennis/ or anglicised to Badis. I cannot find them in the 1901 census,Or the birth of My grandmother Sarah around that time. Does anyone know if there are archives of Jewish immigrants, or shipping records that would be relevant?am feeling quite frustrated as the other side of the family is proving equally elusive despite being English. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. |
