He could have changed regiments. When a regiment lost a lot of men in action (which lots did) then men were moved around between the different regiments. |

My great x3 granddad was in the 1st battalion, Hampshire regiment in WW1. On a sheet of paper I have regarding info about him during the war it says under supplementary notes:24181, royal Warwickshire regiment. |
