good afternoon , i have found my ancestor john southall ( 1840 barnes surrrey) on both the 1891 and 1901 census for fulham and hammersmith with his second wife maria and their children . but on both they have various unrelated children living with them as boarders - my question is, could these children be orphans/foundlings that they are fostering and is there any way i can find out ? thankyou , angela |

The 1891 image states that Maria's occupation is "charge of young children" so my guess is that she could have been a child minder. |
