I presume it's Christopher Barnabus Johnson that she married? On the 1871 census there's a step-daughter named Mary M. Whaley, aged 7. |

'late' in this context means 'lately' or 'previously' It does not relate to a person's mortality.............. |

She could have been divorced from Mr.Walley but in 1871 it is much more likely that he died. |
