Hi Christine, yes I have her marraige cert I have searched for her father (John Baxter) but have no idea when he was born, except that he must have been a suitable age to have children when she (Sarah Baxter) was born in 1848ish! Have had no luck with a John Baxter from Workington area and don't have any more info... |

Annette, birth registration wasn't compulsory until 1875 so you may not find a birth registration. |

I had a chap on the 1881 census site help me with the search and he can't find a reference with the correct names/place of birth etc. He said he searched 1851/1861/1871 and found nothing matching! |

Thanks Ann, don't want to ask for more help searching as plenty of people have helped already but to no avail! I will look or the LDS site, do you have to pay to use it? |

Hi, I have searched and others have had a go on the other threads to find a relative of mine born around 1848, there appears to be no records that exactly match although there is one possible cert that I have ordered just in case. |
