Thanet is a local government district of Kent, England which was formed under the Local Government Act 1972, and came into being on 1 April 1974. It occupies the area known as the "Isle of Thanet" and is governed by Thanet District Council. The main towns in the district are Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs. |
