Can anyone help me to find the date of the marriage between Henry Dibble and Eliza Jones? He was born in 1836 and she was born in 1850. I've looked in all the usual places but perhaps you have other places you can try. I believe the marriage took place in Pancras, London. |

Hi Glitter Baby and Maureen. Thanks very much for the replies. Do you know, I've looked on Genes, Familysearch and FreeBMD and I couldn't find them. I've looked at so many records I must have just missed it!!! Thanks very much, both of you. |

I don't suppose you happen to know if he was married before? There were five children born between 1860 and 1874. I know they could have just been living together but that was unusual in those days, wasn't it? For that length of time anyway. |

There is also an 1871 census record with a wife Emma so maybe Eliza was his second wife? |

Yes, I've just found that too. It was to someone called Emma, but I can't find an Emma Dibble in the deaths in the period mentioned. They must have lived together then. In which case why get married when they did? |

Well done, Maureen. The children mentioned there are the 5 I was talking about. He WAS married twice. I wonder if she died or if they divorced? |

More Likely widowed as Divorce was very uncommon years ago. |

Thanks, Fire. I thought that too but I can't find a record of Emma's death as yet. |

This might be one of Henry's relations in the same area in 1881 |
