Thank you Sam from Stoke, it appears to be for persons left off (bless them). I have tried, but with such a massively common name as James Smith it is too difficult to find, as they do not put their home addresses anywhere that I could find. I just wondered if they were eventually put in the BMD in this country. Thank you for your help. |

Have you looked on the CWGC site? It he died in WWI then he should be recorded on there. |

I would be grateful for any assistance. A relative died in France fighting in WW1 and I am wondering if his death would be registered in England, perhaps at his residence town. Would anyone know? I am having a lot of problems finding him as I have an approximate dob and dod. Also his name is Smith which does not help. |
